Mill Creek will Celebrate 35 Years of operation in 2017!!

November 1964
Mill Creek Conservancy District is approved by voters.
Year of 1967
Citizens petition the formation Clark County Park District. It passed by 13 votes.
December 1970
CCPD receives a loan in the amount of $239,000 to begin work on the lake and park
Year of 1975
All 2,600 acres of land are secured for park use.
April 1978
Ground breaking begins on the dam located at the south end of the lake
September 1978
CCPD is awarded a $230,000 grant to construct a launch and other facilities to allow use of the lake by boaters
May 29, 1982
Mill Creek Lake and Park officially Opens

About Us

Mill Creek Park is located 7 miles Northwest of Marshall, IL on the Lincoln Heritage Trail Road (Clarksville Road). Mill Creek Park opened May 29, 1982 and consists of 2,600 acres of land, with 811 acres of water. Our Mission is to "manage and preserve the natural resources and provide health and recreational opportunities".
